WASHINGTON: In the fiercely contested elections to the 2026 executive committee of the Kerala Association of Connecticut (KACT), Team Jalakam led by Nancy Antony and Subbu Narayanan attained a resounding victory.

Braving harsh snow and setting aside numerous inconveniences, people arrived to vote with their babies and without letting illnesses deter them, creating an atmosphere of great enthusiasm. People even travelled from far off places to cast votes. From panel submission to election day, Team Jalakam passed through many challenging phases and trials, but what propelled them forward was optimism and an unwavering faith in the Connecticut Malayali community.

'This was an election victory bearing God’s signature. I convey my deepest love and gratitude to everyone. The strong bonds of friendship that worked behind this must be especially acknowledged. Umesh Iyer, Deepa Krishna, Suresh Jayaprasad, Rajith Babu, Shyju, and Sarath are the Jalakam forces who stood behind this effort. On this occasion, I remember with gratitude Ronnie Joseph, the first vice-presidential candidate who steered the campaign activities from the very beginning of the team. I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart. Along with this, Team Jalakam has already begun efforts to transform this into a community hub where everyone can unite and share friendship. Team Jalakam has found a place in the hearts of Connecticut Malayalees--as an awakening, as a hope and as a wave that opens new paths,' said Jalakam President Nancy Antony to the media.
