'No privacy even during honeymoon, unwanted interference from Sajitha'; Unnikrishnan's brother Chandu responds
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BM Chandu, brother of Unnikrishnan, arrested in the suicide of Kamaleswaram natives Greema and her mother Sajitha, revealed his side of the incident.
Chandu:
“The wedding took place when my brother was doing his PhD in Ireland. Four or five days after the marriage, the two went to the Andaman for their honeymoon. A few days later, my brother returned to Ireland. Greema is a single child, and for this reason, she was very close to her mother. The couple never had any privacy in their lives. Even during the honeymoon, they were interrupted by phone calls from Sajitha.
Even for trivial issues, Greema used to take advice from her mother before talking with my brother. While calling from Ireland, Sajitha would put the phone on loudspeaker, and she would mostly reply instead of Greema.
It was a habit of Greema to threaten suicide even for trivial reasons. There were several situations when she went back home dejected after fights with my brother. We went to counselling twice, and the psychologists themselves said that divorce was the best option. The suicide note was forwarded to us as well. Sajitha had many times before threatened suicide following quarrels.”
Unnikrishnan was arrested the other day in the death of Kamleswaram natives S.L. Sajitha Raj and her daughter Greema S. Raj. The suicide note prepared by Sajitha had heavily criticised Unnikrishnan for ending the marriage with Greema in just 25 days. A case was registered against Unnikrishnan for domestic violence and abetment to suicide.
