'Vizhinjam project is not the result of efforts of a single government'; Karan Adani highlights role of Oommen Chandy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Adani Ports Managing Director Karan Adani said that the Vizhinjam port is not the result of a single government's efforts. He made this statement during the inauguration of the second phase of construction of the Vizhinjam port. Karan Adani also said the project would not have been completed without the support of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

He also highlighted the role of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in the Vizhinjam port project. Karan Adani said he was thankful to the Opposition Leader as well, adding that despite political differences, everyone worked together for Vizhinjam.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the second phase of construction of the Vizhinjam port. The Chief Minister switched on the piling works. Union Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal attended the event as the chief guest. Ministers V N Vasavan and K N Balagopal, Mayor V V Rajesh, Opposition Leader V D Satheesan, and others were also present at the function.

With this, the second phase of growth of the Vizhinjam port has begun. The port has turned into a major landmark, turning the dream of the people into reality. It marks a new chapter in infrastructure development. The Chief Minister said at the event that he is confident the Union Minister will do everything possible for the Vizhinjam port.
