Patient brought to hospital with breathing difficulty dies; treatment negligence alleged against Vilappilsala Government Hospital

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It has been alleged that a patient who was taken to the hospital with breathing difficulties died after not receiving proper treatment. The complaint has been raised against the Vilappilsala Government Hospital. The deceased has been identified as Bismeer (37), a native of Kollamkonam in Vilappilsala. He was working as a Swiggy delivery executive.

According to Bismeer’s family, hospital staff failed to open the gate promptly when the patient was brought in in a critical condition. They also alleged that the staff refused to provide CPR and oxygen. Following the incident, the family lodged a complaint with the medical officer of the Vilappilsala hospital.

However, hospital superintendent Rama said that all necessary primary treatment was provided. Hospital authorities stated that the patient was referred to the Medical College as his condition was extremely critical.
