Hill Palace police's endeavor to catch absconding accused; attempted murder case suspect hangs himself
KOCHI: A youth hanged himself in his bedroom after seeing the police team that came to arrest him. Sanal's son Sridhar (20), who lives near Eroor Labour Junction, committed suicide.
Seven police officers led by the SI of Tripunithura Hill Palace station arrived at the house at around 11.30 am after learning that Sridhar, who was wanted in the 2025 attempt to murder case, was in the house. Seeing the police coming, Sridhar went into the bedroom and closed the door. The police waited for an hour but Sridhar did not open the door. Following the call from the police, Sridhar's father Sanal came home, broke the kitchen door and entered. The group broke the bedroom window and found Sridhar hanging from the fan. No one else was in the house at the time of the incident.
Hill Palace police said that Sridhar is an accused in four cases, including POCSO. He is an accused in the case of trying to kill a biker in Kaniyampuzha on December 13, 2025. The police had come to Sridhar's house two weeks ago, but he ran away that day after seeing them.
Father is an employee of the Tripunithura Municipality. Mother: Maya. Sister: Ammu. The body is at the Tripunithura Taluk Hospital mortuary and will be cremated after a postmortem at the Kalamassery Medical College Hospital.
