Parents oppose playing games; Three minor sisters aged 12,14, 16 jump from ninth floor

LUCKNOW: Three minor sisters jumped from the ninth floor after their parents opposed them from playing online games in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. The dead are Pakhi (12), Prachi (14) and Vishika (16). The three jumped from the ninth floor of their apartment at Bharat City early Wednesday morning at 2.30 am. Their screams and the sound of the bodies hitting the ground woke everyone. The police arrived and shifted the bodies to the hospital.

Reports say the three were addicted to online games which they began during Covid time. They were indulged in task-based Korean games. The children stopping going to school two years ago.

In a search conducted at the flat, an eight-page note written in a diary detailed their gaming and mobile activities. They were addicted everything to Korean. They had apologized to their parents. They have asked their parents to read everything written in this dairy because all of it is true.

The three had taken Korean names. Middle sister Prachi was their leader in everything and was believed to be the one taking the lead in the deadly game. Lately, their parents had restricted their mobile use. They said Papa sorry, Korea is our life, Korea is our biggest love, whatever you say, we cannot give it up, wept their father, Chetan Kumar.

This should not happen to any parent or child. Parents should not let their children play games. I was not aware of the game, or I would have never let them play it, said their father. Visuals from their home revealed more jottings on a wall in the girls' bedroom, like ‘I am very very alone’ and ‘make me a heart of broken (sic)’.

The sisters did everything together, including bathing and eating. Afterwards, they became irregular in school and finally stopped going altogether. Chetan Kumar married two sisters and lives with both wives and their children, all daughters. Two of the girls who died were daughters of one wife and the third was their step-sister.
