No more confusion about brandy, name is 'Malabar Mystery'
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The name of the brandy being launched by the new government-owned brewery has been confirmed as 'Malabar Ministry'. Although Bevco had announced that Minister M.B. Rajesh would announce the name of the new brand tomorrow, the name was leaked. The production is being done by Malabar Distilleries, which operates near Menonpara in Palakkad. The specialty will be better quality at lower price.
Bevco's advertisement offering Rs 10,000 to those who suggest a suitable name and logo for the liquor had gone up in court. The High Court sent a notice to the government after a petition was filed, pointing out that the government was promoting alcohol consumption. Later, Bevco filed an affidavit stating that it was not they who gave the advertisement. The court stayed the advertisement to name the liquor.
