KOCHI: Director and Bigg Boss Season 5 winner Akhil Marar said that he joined Twenty20 as he could not fully agree with BJP's stand. Akhil Marar while talking to a private channel said that he is 80 percent a BJP activist and that there is evidence for Congress leaders offering him a seat.

‘Although I agree with about 80 percent of BJP's interests, I oppose some things and that is why I joined Twenty20. I have always agreed with the ideas of Twenty20. However, their activities at that time were not active outside the district. I will fully support all the activities of the BJP that are beneficial to the people,' said Akhil Marar.

Akhil Marar said leaders including Ramesh Chennithala and opposition leader V D Satheesan had invited him to the Congress. If anyone thinks that the claim of receiving an invitation from Congress is a lie, Akhil Marar said that he has proof for it on his phone. President Sabu Jacob announced that Akhil Marar has been granted official membership in Twenty20 at the press meet convened yesterday. It is hinted that Akhil Marar will contest as an NDA candidate from Kottarakkara in the upcoming assembly elections.
