‘Alin’s name will always be remembered, lauds parents’ decision’; Modi remembers youngest organ donor in Mann Ki Baat

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Mann Ki Baat remembered ten-month-old Alin Sherin Abraham, who gave new life to four children through organ donation. Modi said the baby, who had an entire life ahead of her, left the world suddenly and so many dreams and moments of happiness remained unfulfilled.

Modi sympathized with the family of Alin and said the pain of losing a child is deeper. Even in this pain, the family decided to donate her organs. The Prime Minister said the pain that her parents must be going through cannot be expressed in words. Even amidst such deep sorrow, her father, Arun Abraham and mother, Sherin, took a decision that has filled every Indian’s heart with immense respect for them, and her name will always be remembered, he said.

Alin is the youngest organ donor in the state. She was declared brain dead on February 12 after a car accident that happened in Kottayam on February 5.
