Happy news for Government job aspirants; age limit increased

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has taken a crucial decision regarding the PSC examination. The age limit for the examination has been increased. The decision was taken in the cabinet meeting. The increase is four years. With this, the age limit for the general category will be 40 years. For the SC and ST categories, it will be 45 years. Currently, the age limit for the general category is 36 years.

Earlier, when the retirement age was 55 years, the age limit for the general category was 35 years. Later, when the retirement age was 56, the age limit was increased to 36. Although the state government has not increased the retirement age at present, the increase in the application age limit is a crucial decision. This is a decision that gives hope to lakhs of youth. The PSC has increased the age limit at a time when youth organisations are criticising the non-appointment from several rank lists even after their expiry. The government's decision is now a relief to those who thought that they would no longer be able to write important exams like the LD Clerk due to the current age limit of 36 years.

The crucial decision was made with the assembly elections approaching. The government's decision came as the demand and discussions regarding raising the PSC age limit continued to be active.
