SSLC, Plus Two exams in Gulf postponed; results of HSC exam in Kerala to be announced on May 22
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Education Minister V Sivankutty said the conduct of exams in the Gulf region is in a crisis due to the ongoing war. The minister informed that the government has decided to postpone the SSLC examination to be held on March 5 and the higher secondary exam on March 5, 6 and 7. The revised examination dates will be informed later. The minister also directed that students who are unable to write the examination in the Gulf region should request to the director of general education through their headmaster/headmistress and principals.
Online applications for Plus One admission for the academic year 2026-27 can be submitted from the next day of publishing the SSLC examination results. The seats of the previous year are available. All the qualified students will be assured of higher studies. Admission will be through three allotments. After the main stage, new applications will be invited and the remaining vacancies will be filled through supplementary applications and the admission process will be completed in a timely manner.
The first-year higher secondary and vocational higher secondary examinations of 2026 will begin on March 5 and the second-year examinations on March 6. 4,11,025 students are appearing for the first-year examination. 4,52,437 students are appearing for the second-year examination. 89 evaluation camps have been set up. Evaluation will begin from April 6. We are expecting to declare the results on May 22. There are 1966 examination centers in Kerala, seven in the Gulf, nine in Lakshadweep and two in Mahe,’ the minister said at the press meet.
