TEHRAN: It has been reported that the wife of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has also been killed in a joint US-Israeli airstrike. Iranian state-owned news media reported that Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh was also killed in the attack. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a US-Israeli airstrike on Saturday. Reports said that Mansoura was seriously injured in the attack. However, Iran has not officially confirmed Mansoura's death.

Apart from being Khamenei's wife, Mansoureh Khojasteh has never intervened or commented on Iranian politics. Born into a religious family in Mashhad, Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh was the daughter of Mohammad Esmaeil Khojasteh, a prominent businessman. Her brother, Hassan Khojasteh, served as the deputy director of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

Khamenei and Mansoureh first met in a private ceremony in 1964 and were married a year later in a grand religious ceremony. Together, they have six children, including four sons. Throughout her life, Mansoureh avoided public events, choosing instead to prioritize family and religious matters.

Meanwhile, news agencies are reporting that several members of Khamenei's family were killed in the Israeli-American attack. Earlier reports had suggested that Khamenei's daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter were also killed.
