THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vattiyoorkavu MLA V K Prasanth has responded to the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation's decision to continue the project of collecting bricks used during Attukal Pongala for housing construction. Taking to social media, Prasanth said that it is a good thing that those who once opposed the project launched during the LDF rule have now decided to continue it after coming to power.

V K Prasanth said the project was first launched in 2018 when he was the Mayor. The initiative involved collecting bricks used for Attukal Pongala and distributing them to poor families who are beneficiaries of the government housing scheme. He added that the Corporation Council led by Mayor Arya Rajendran later continued the project. According to him, the scheme helped more than 100 families achieve their dream of owning a home.

V K Prasanth's post The project of collecting bricks was started in 2018 during my tenure as Mayor. While serving as the Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, we began a project to collect the bricks used during the 2018 Attukal Pongala and distribute them to poor families who were beneficiaries of the government housing scheme. The Corporation Council that came later, led by Arya Rajendran, also continued the project. Through this initiative, we were able to help more than 100 families realise their dream of owning a home. I understand that those who had opposed this project from the beginning have now decided to continue it after coming to power in the Corporation. It is a good thing.
