THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rahul Gandhi alleged that an understanding between the CPM and the BJP is the reason why central agencies are not questioning Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Rahul Gandhi made the remarks while inaugurating the concluding meeting of the Puthuyuga Yatra at Putharikandam Maidan in Thiruvananthapuram.

He claimed that in Kerala, it is not CPM or BJP but “CJP”, suggesting that both parties are working together to defeat the United Democratic Front (UDF).

"The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed 36 cases against me. They have questioned me for 55 hours. However, the ED has not taken any action against Pinarayi Vijayan," Rahul Gandhi said.

"The Kerala government no longer has a communist character and does not protect the interests of farmers or workers. The CPM should change its name to “Corporate Party of India. Several CPM leaders have gone to jail in connection with the Sabarimala gold theft case. Strong action would be taken if the UDF comes to power," he said.

He also criticised Narendra Modi over global issues, saying that despite a dangerous international situation, the Prime Minister has not acted strongly.

Rahul Gandhi alleged that Modi had signed agreements with the United States that harmed India. He claimed that Modi had promised Donald Trump that India would buy oil only from suppliers approved by the US. He also alleged that the reason Modi is making compromises is because of the Epstein files controversy.

The meeting was chaired by V. D. Satheesan. Panakkad Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal delivered the keynote address. The welcome speech was given by C. P. John, while P. K. Venugopal delivered the vote of thanks.

Party leaders should work together Rahul Gandhi began his speech by praising Malayali cricketer Sanju Samson and ended it with advice to leaders of the Indian National Congress. He said party leaders should work together and stay united.

“It should not be a solo dance. A group dance is better. This is the advice of the people,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi also said that the people of Kerala stood by him during difficult times in his life and that he is deeply grateful to the state.
