"It was my honest emotion": Amrita Suresh on why her relationship with Gopi Sundar ended

She’s currently making headlines following the release of her new album, "PIZHA." In a recent interview, Amrita got candid about her past relationship with music director Gopi Sundar and finally addressed the reasons behind their split.

"Life with Gopi Sundar was a decision I made one hundred percent willingly. It was my honest emotion after so many years, and we both really wanted it to work out. We share such a deep love for music, and he was my rock. When my father passed away, he was there for us just like a son. That is something I will truly never forget.

Sometimes I think he came into my life for that specific reason—perhaps my father needed someone to be there for those final rituals. He was there for that year, and I’m grateful for that. But eventually, I realized that if we kept going, even the love we had would turn into something bitter. We started fighting, and it just didn't feel right anymore. We both sat down and decided together that it was better to part ways than to let things get sour."
