CPM finalises candidate list; 55 sitting MLAs to contest again

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM has finalised its candidate list for the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections. A total of 55 sitting MLAs will seek re-election. The major change in the list is that K K Shailaja will contest from Peravoor, while K N Unnikrishnan will contest from Thripunithura after changing their constituencies. Candidates are yet to be announced for a few seats in Malappuram district and Ernakulam district, as well as in Puthuppally. In Palakkad, the party is likely to field an independent candidate backed by the Left after the UDF announces its candidate.
