Woman doctor of govt hospital attacked; complaint filed against four women 

MALAPPURAM: A woman doctor of a government hospital sustained injuries after she was beaten up. The victim is Dr Sini Jaleel of Perinthalmanna District Hospital in Malappuram. A complaint has been filed against four women.

The women came wearing purdah and attacked the doctor in her clinic adjacent to her house. The doctor, who sustained injuries on her face is under treatment in Perinthalmanna. The doctor’s two assistants also suffered injuries in the attack.

A woman, who came for delivery at the district hospital in Perinthalmanna last week, had died following bleeding. Her relatives later alleged medical negligence in the incident and created an uproar. The doctor was attacked later. The IMA in Perinthalmanna announced a strike then. The doctors of government and private hospitals will be a part of the strike.
