Bride demands Rs 90 lakh for sex on first night; locks house and tries to burn with groom’s family inside

LUCKNOW: A bride demanded Rs 90 lakhs for sex on her first night. A verbal dispute broke out between the groom and the bride when he refused to pay the money. The groom alleged that the woman said that she was not interested in the marriage and had agreed for financial gains. Amidst the dispute, on being informed, her family arrived and attacked the groom's house.

It is also alleged that her relatives locked the groom's family inside and tried to cause an explosion by leaking gas. The groom and his family escaped with the help of neighbors. The woman fled with her mother-in-law's gold ornaments. The groom’s family approached the court after the police did not take any action initially. Following the court order, the Jagadishpura police registered a case against the woman, her father and relatives.
