Passenger falls ill moments before takeoff; crew steps in to help
BENGALURU: An IndiGo flight crew and pilot acted quickly to help a passenger who fell ill just minutes before takeoff. The incident took place on flight 6E 840, which was scheduled to depart from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru to Delhi. A doctor on board, along with the crew, provided timely assistance to the passenger.
The incident occurred while the aircraft was preparing to move toward the runway. A young passenger suddenly felt unwell, and the cabin crew immediately recognised the situation and sought help from a doctor on the flight. The pilot and crew then decided not to proceed with takeoff and ensured that the passenger was safely moved to an ambulance waiting at the airport.
The incident came to light through a video shared on Instagram by a passenger named Shaili. She praised the calm and efficient response of the crew. She also noted that other passengers showed patience despite the delay caused by the emergency. Ground staff later confirmed that the passenger was discharged from the hospital on the same day after receiving treatment.
