Suffered heart attack while getting ready to go to school; Malayali student dies in Riyadh

RIYADH: A Malayali student living abroad has died after suffering a heart attack. The deceased has been identified as Haneen Abdusamad (15), a Plus One student at New Middle East International School in Riyadh.

The incident occurred on April 5, when Haneen suffered a heart attack while getting ready to go to school on the first day of the academic year. He suddenly felt unwell while wearing his school uniform and collapsed.

He was then rushed to King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz University Hospital at the Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University campus. He was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit, but his condition worsened, and he passed away yesterday evening.

Haneen was the son of Advocate P.K. Habeeb Rahman, a native of Kondotty in Malappuram and an employee at the University of Calicut, and Dr K. Shayeen, an assistant professor at the College of Engineering, Princess Nourah University in Riyadh. He is survived by his siblings Hadi Abdurahman and Haya Habeeb. Procedures for his burial in Riyadh are currently underway.
