'Epstein of Madras; favourite hobby inside studio': Singer makes serious revelation against popular music director
Tamil singer Swagatha S Krishnan made a shocking revelation, saying that she was sexually assaulted by a prominent Tamil music director. Swagatha, who did not want to reveal the abuser’s name, described the music director as the Epstein of Madras. In an interview with the YouTube channel Sivasankari Talks, the singer revealed that she left the Tamil film industry after the assault and moved to Rishikesh.
Swagatha Krishnan said that she worked under that music director for some time.
“He had gained my trust and even gave me emotional support during a tough phase in my life. He soon started borrowing money from me, and later came sexual exploitation and physical abuse. This left me in severe mental trauma.
This is not an isolated incident. Many women have been victims of his crime. It was like a hobby for him to secretly record and watch the scenes of teens coming to the studio. Many women have even texted me about going through the same ordeal under him. His targets are independent women whom he will engage in physical intimacy only to soon exploit them financially.
I couldn’t handle it, so I quit the job at the studio. He then made false accusations of theft against me and badmouthed me to others. This left me in deep trauma, and it took me a long time to come out of it.
I had talks with lawyers and officials earlier, but did not file a complaint because I lacked courage and support. However, now I am planning to take him to task.”
Swagatha Krishnan is a singer who has been active in the Tamil film industry for 15 years. She worked as a sound engineer in the studio.
