‘Gaja Ratnam’ Guruvayur Padmanabhan dies

THRISSUR: ‘Gaja Ratnam’ Guruvayur Padmanabhan of Guruvayur Devaswom died here Wednesday. The elephant donated to the Guruvayur Temple in 1954 was 84 years old. Due to old age ailments, he was under treatment for the last one week. Guruvayur Padmanabhan was the elephant king of the Sri Krishna Temple in Guruvayur. He fetched a record of Rs 2.25 lakh for his appearance at a temple procession in Kerala.
