Youth commits suicide after feeling depressed for not getting liquor

THRISSUR: Reports said that a 35-year-old youth committed suicide depressed of not getting alcohol as liquor outlets and bars have been shut down following the lockdown. The dead has been identified as Sanoj (35), a native of Thuvanoor in Kunnamkulam. His relatives said that he was upset for the past two days following the non-availability of alcohol.
A FIR has been registered based on the statements of his relatives. He was a bachelor.
Minister Kadakampally Surendran had yesterday mentioned that there were concerns that the closure of liquor shops would be a social issue.
