Gold price hits record high; Rs 40,000 per sovereign

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The price of gold reached a record high with the price rising by Rs 280 and reaching an all-time high price of Rs 40,000 per sovereign. Price per gram is Rs 5000. There was an increase of Rs 320 on Thursday and it was Rs 39,720 per sovereign. The price of a troy ounce (31.1 grams) of pure gold has stabilized in the international market.
