THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state health department has announced some changes in the COVID protocol. From now on, only primary contacts of a known positive case in the high-risk category need to quarantine for 14 days.

Contacts in the low-risk category should avoid gatherings, public functions, and travel for 14 days. This is also applicable to those in the secondary contact list. However, all contacts should wear masks and maintain social distancing.

There is a change in guidelines for those returning to Kerala from other states. Instead of the 28-day quarantine period, one need to only quarantine themselves for 14 days.
