Kerala records highest single-day spike of 3082 COVID-19 cases, 2844 cases through contact; 2196 recoveries

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state registered 3082 cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, health minister KK Shailaja informed. This is the highest single-day spike in Kerala.
Among the new cases, 2844 persons developed the disease through contact including 189 cases without an identified source of infection. 50 health workers also tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
2196 coronavirus patients tested negative for the virus on Sunday.
District wise break up of positive cases: Thiruvananthapuram- 528 Kollam- 328 Malappuram- 324 Ernakulam- 281 Kozhikode- 264 Alappuzha- 221 Kasargod- 218 Kannur- 200 Kottayam- 195 Thrissur- 169 Palakkad- 162 Pathanamthitta- 113 Wayanad- 40 Idukki- 39
The state reported 10 COVID deaths on Sunday.
