Lightning kills housewife while cooking in kitchen

KOZHIKODE: A housewife died here after lightning struck her while making food in the kitchen. 47-year-old Reena Sunny, the wife of Sunny of Panniyanichira in Kozhikode, has been identified as the deceased.

The accident happened during the late hours on Friday. Reena was engaged in cooking in the kitchen which is at the backside of the house. She was taken to private hospitals in Thalayadu and Poonoor and given first aid.

She was then admitted to the medical college hospital where she died on Saturday evening. The electronic devices in the house were damaged after catching fire due to lightning. Children: Rony Sunny, Sony Sunny.
