Conspiracy to sabotage gold smuggling case at political, bureaucratic levels; ED approaches high court against govt

KOCHI: ED has approached the high court against the government. ED has demanded to cancel the cases registered by the crime branch on its officials. A conspiracy has been going on at political and bureaucratic levels to sabotage the gold smuggling case. ED has also called for a CBI probe into the case and has also asked to cancel the FIR registered by the crime branch to ensure an impartial probe.

ED has also pleaded to the court to ask the crime branch to submit the documents used by the crime branch to register the cases against ED officials. The court will consider today the plea filed by ED. Citing that ED has compelled the accused in the case to name chief minister, crime branch ha registered criminal case against ED officials. Following this, ED has approached the high court against the crime branch officials.
