Soumya's body brought to Kochi, funeral to be held on Sunday in Idukki

KOCHI: The body of Soumya Santhosh, a native of Idukki, who was killed in a Hamas rocket attack in Israel, has been brought to Kochi. The body was brought to Delhi from Israel on Saturday morning and was flown to Kochi from there. Soumya's relatives had arrived at the Kochi airport to receive her body. Dean Kuriakose MP and PT Thomas MLA were also present at the airport to pay their last respects.

From there the body was taken by ambulance to her native Idukki. According to the available information, the funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon.

The body was flown to Delhi by a special flight from Israel and was received at the airport by Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan. Ronie Yadidia, the charge d'affaires at the Israeli embassy in Delhi, was also present to pay his last respects to Soumya.

Soumya was killed in a Hamas rocket attack from Gaza on Wednesday. The rocket landed on the roof of a house in the Israeli city of Ashkelon, where Soumya works as a caretaker.
