Farmer ends life in Thrissur

THRISSUR: A 47-year-old farmer ended his life at Mala in Thrissur. The dead identified as Jijo Paul committed suicide by hanging. He was found hanging on the first floor of his house Friday morning. Inability to settle his debts, which amounted to lakhs, has been cited as the reason for pushing Jijo to take the extreme step. He suffered a huge loss in farming due to the floods in Kerala. He was unable to reap a good harvest owing to drought, and was unable to clear his loans. Police have reached the spot.
