Daily Covid deaths cross 200, Kerala clocks 19,661 cases on Wednesday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 19,661 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Among these, 18,340 persons developed the disease through contact, including 1081 cases without an identified source of infection. 156 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 84 health workers contracted the disease on Tuesday.

29,708 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,92,165 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 213 deaths due to the virus on Tuesday with the toll rising to 9222.

1,28,525 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 15.3.

With the removal of 10 regions, there are 877 hotspots in the state.
