Biker dies as electric pole falls on him

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A trader had a miserable end to his life as an electricity post fell on him after an electric line got trapped in a concrete mixing unit vehicle. The deceased has been identified as R Rajesh, 44, of Surya 153A Raj in Mannamoola, a wholesaler of electrical goods in Peroorkada. The accident happened in front of Concordia School at around 1pm yesterday. Rajesh was riding his bike behind a readymix vehicle when the accident occurred. He was rushed to a medical college hospital but died later. According to Peroorkada police, Rajesh did not have any fatal injuries on his body but it is suspected that he was electrocuted.

Traffic was disrupted for about an hour following the accident. KSEB officials reached and replaced the power cables. The body kept in the mortuary will be released after Covid test and postmortem. Wife: Lakshmi, Daughter Devika.
