People in great financial crisis for 38 days, opposition demands more relaxations on lockdown

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V D Satheesan said that he will give a letter to the government demanding more relaxations on lockdown. The government should think whether the lockdown should continue like this. The state is in lockdown for 38 days. The people had obtained a lot of benefits in the last lockdown before elections, he said.

The moratorium tax exemptions were granted during the first lockdown. A two-month relaxation was given for vehicle tax payees. However, there is nothing now. The people are facing a great financial crisis for the last 38 days. Many have lost their jobs. Satheesan said that a lot of complaints are being received.

The lives of daily wage labourers, employees in business firms, motor workers, labourers of unorganized sectors and plantation workers have come to a standstill. The opposition is with the government in protective measures. He said the UDF is giving unconditional support to the government for protectives measures of Covid.
