Temporary relief as another 9.85 lakh doses of Covid vaccine reaches state

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state has received 9,85,490 doses of Covid vaccine, Health Minister Veena George said. The state received 1,32,340 doses of Covishield vaccine which was bought and another 6 lakh doses sanctioned by the Centre. 6 lakh doses of the vaccine were delivered to Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Kozhikode yesterday. The vaccines ordered by the state through KMSCL arrived in Ernakulam. In addition, 97,500 doses of Covaxin and 1,55,650 doses Covishield vaccines will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram tonight. The minister said that the arrival of Covaxin would be very helpful for those awaiting the second dose.

A total of 1,21,75,020 doses of vaccine was provided to the state. Of this, the state procured a total of 13,42,540 doses of vaccine, including 12,04,960 doses of Covishield vaccine and 1,37,580 doses of Covaxin. A total of 1,08,32,480 doses of vaccine were given by the center, including 97,90,330 doses of Covishield vaccine and 10,42,150 doses of Covaxin.
