Kerala records 12,078 COVID cases on Thursday; 136 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 12,078 COVID-19 cases on Thursday. Among these, 11,250 persons developed the disease through contact, including 657 cases without an identified source of infection. 94 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 77 health workers contracted the disease on Thursday.

11,469 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 99,859 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 136 deaths due to the virus on Thursday with the toll rising to 12,581.

Ernakulam 1461, Kollam 1325, Malappuram 1287, Thiruvananthapuram 1248, Kozhikode 1061, Thrissur 1025, Palakkad 990, Alappuzha 766, Kannur 696, Kottayam 594, Pathanamthitta 525, Kasargod 439, Wayanad 352, Idukki 309

1,16,507 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 10.37.
