Woman dies after bike hits pickup van; youth sustains injuries, accident suspected to have happened while eloping

PANDALAM: A woman died in an accident after the bike hit a pickup van at Kulanada. The dead has been identified as Sumitra Praveen of Kulathur in Thiruvananthapuram. Anzil (24) of N M Manzil of Nedumangad, who was riding the bike, sustained injuries.
The accident happened Thursday morning in front of the petrol pump near Kulanada T B Junction at 4 am. Their bike proceeding to Chengannur hit the pickup van going to Pandalam.
Sumitra was married and has a child. They are suspected to be lovers and were eloping. Anzil, who sustained injuries has been admitted at Pandalam CM Hospital. Further steps have been taken.
