One-and-a-half-year-old dies after beetle gets stuck in trachea

KASARGOD: In a tragic incident, a one-and-a-half-year-old baby died after a beetle got stuck in his trachea. He has been identified as Anvedh, son of Satyendran of Chennikara in Kasargod and Renjini. The boy fell unconscious while playing inside the house at 6 pm yesterday. Though he was rushed to Kasargod General Hospital, he was declared dead on reaching there.

The reason for his death could not be found on examination. The post mortem conducted today found a dead beetle in his trachea. The beetle is likely to have entered the trachea while he was playing. He was cremated at the Chennikkara public crematorium. He has a two-year-old brother Ridvedh.
