Rs 2000 per month for those with four or more children, financial assistance for maternity expenses; Pathanamthitta Diocese announces benefits

PATHANAMTHITTA: The Palai Diocese had recently announced that it will provide Rs 1,500 per month and other assistance to couples with more children. Now, the Pathanamthitta Diocese too has come up with a similar announcement.

The Pathanamthitta Diocese of Syro Malankara Catholic Church has announced that it will provide Rs. 2000 per month to those families with four or more children. From the birth of the fourth child, financial assistance will be provided for maternity expenses if required. A circular issued by Bishop Samuel Mor Irenios stated that those coming from such families will be given preference in jobs in Church institutions.

A priest and a nun will be appointed to lead such families spiritually. This aid has been announced for couples who got married after 2000.
