THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Covid restrictions in the state are set to change by Tuesday. The government is considering measures to close only those wards where the spread of Coronavirus infection remains high. The recommendation of the expert committee visiting Kerala will also be considered to decide how the restrictions should be implemented. It is learnt that the authorities might permit all shops in those areas with low TPR to stay open on all days. The government might also decide to put an end to the weekend lockdowns.

The government is now actively considering an alternative proposal in such a way that only those wards with more patients will remain closed instead of closing the entire region within the limits of that local body in case of an increase in the spread of the disease. The central team has recommended strengthening the activities focusing only on areas where the disease is more prevalent. The central team also suggested that more CFLTCs should be opened to strengthen the fight against Covid.
