Thousands pay homage to ancestors by offering bali

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Paying homage to ancestors, thousands offered Karkidaka Vavu Bali at their homes Sunday morning. There was no bali offerings in temples under the devaswom board and in holy places due to Covid restrictions. However, offerings in the temple after bali were permitted.

Authorities had earlier issued a stern directive to offer bali in homes. The temples had also taken the same decision. In some places a few people gathered together and offered bali violating Covid protocol.

Kits worth Rs 150 to Rs 200 were available in shops selling pooja items for bali. The kits were sold like hot cakes.
