Kerala likely to receive heavy rainfall till Wednesday, orange alert issued in nine districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state is likely to receive heavy rainfall till Wednesday due to the formation of low pressure in the Bay of Bengal. Central and northern districts will receive heavy rainfall while southern districts could get moderate rainfall.

Orange alert has been issued in Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kozhikode and Kannur and yellow alert has been issued in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kasaragod. Fishing is not allowed on the Kerala-Lakshadweep coast till 30 due to strong winds.
