THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Minister V Muraleedharan has said that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is using the 6 pm press conference to distort history.

'There is no other chapter in the history of the national movement that has committed genocide of Indian citizens on religious grounds like the Moplah riots. Except for 2 British policemen, all those who were killed by the rioters were poor Hindus. The Chief Minister, who conveniently hides all this, is glorifying the Hindu genocide,' Muraleedharan wrote on his Facebook page.

'The party document presented by EMS in 1946 describes the Moplah riots as a "revolutionary movement that turned into a communal riot." Is the Communist Party ready to edit this party document? The book 'Who is who of freedom fighters in Kerala', published by the Kerala government in 1975, does not include Variyamkunnan in the list of freedom fighters,' he added.
