NEW DELHI: DGCA report on Sabarimala airport has caused a setback. The DGCA has submitted a report to the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation against Kerala's airport proposal. The DGCA report said the location found on the Cheruvally estate for the airport is impractical.

The report prepared by Kerala for the airport is not credible. The DGCA report stated that the Cheruvally estate could not prepare the runway as per the rules defined for the airport. The report also says there is no space to ensure the length of the runway. According to the report, the airport will affect two villages in Cheruvalli, similar to those in Mangalore and Kozhikode.
