Gold seized at Cochin airport; six arrested

KOCHI: The Customs department on Monday seized around 1600 grams of gold from six passengers at Cochin international airport. Six Tamil Nadu natives, who came from Sri Lanka, have been arrested. The gold was concealed in the rectum of the passengers.
On Sunday, 5 kg gold was seized from 6 passengers at the airport. The passengers, including a woman, were arrested following a surprise inspection conducted by the Customs Preventive Unit.
