KANNUR: Kannur University VC Gopinath Raveendran on Saturday said that he was appointed by Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. He also said that he assumed the post after receiving the appointment order from the Chancellor's office.
"Those who made the re-appointment are the ones who should be responding to the controversy. This was the first time that a re-appointment was made in Kerala. Similar re-appointments have taken place in other states such as Gujarat and Delhi. I don't have any part in the controversy," Gopinath Raveendran said.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala alleged that Higher Education Minister R Bindu was involved in corruption and nepotism. He also urged that the minister should resign from her post.
