President unveils educationist P N Panicker’s bronze statue, to return to Delhi tomorrow

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: President Ram Nath Kovind unveiled a bronze statue of educationist P N Panicker at Poojappura in Thiruvananthapuram. The bronze statue was erected by the P N Panicker Foundation. The birthday of P N Panicker, a promoter of the library movement, is observed as Reading Day. His statue was erected by the foundation with the intention of maintaining his memory.

The President will be in the capital city for two days. He will attend a public meet after the statue is unveiled. The public meeting will be attended by Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Minister V Muraleedharan, Education Minister V Sivankutty and Mayor Arya Rajendran.

After offering prayers at the Padmanabhaswamy Temple in the evening, he will stay at the Raj Bhavan today. He will return to Delhi Friday morning.
