Yusuff Ali visits school where he studied 51 years ago, spends quality time with friends

KATTOOR: MA Yusuff Ali came to the school where he studied fifty-one years ago to share his memories ad sit in the classroom with his friends. Yusuff Ali came for a private ceremony in Karanchira and in between visited St. Xavier's School, where he studied. The helicopter carrying him landed on the school ground. The return was after intervening to bring the friend back to life from the threat of foreclosure.

Yusuff Ali studied here from Class VIII to SSLC in the 1970s. Years later, the head teacher asked Yusuff Ali to plant a tree in the schoolyard, which paved the way for the reunion.


He reminded the teachers that he was the fourteenth student in the attendance book. He saw the teachers who taught him to smile and the friends who played with him. He talked with the head teacher, Lonappan Master, who taught him, and his former classmates. At a glance, he recognized PM Sukumaran, a close friend who had studied on the same bench with him.


He also inquired about Devasi's tea stall nearby. MA Yusuff Ali shared the joy by cutting a cake and planted mango seedlings with others in the schoolyard. It was between these happy moments that he found out that his dear friend's house was under foreclosure. He said financial assistance would be provided to avoid confiscation. He also asked the teachers to call him for any shortcomings in the school. He also promised to come again for school's annual day after the pandemic issues.
