‘Not to fight in the name of religion’, CM reminds Guru’s words

SIVAGIRI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said there are still people who do not understand the messages of Guru. The messages of Guru should be nurtured in the society, the chief minister said while talking after the inaugural function of the 89th Sivagiri Pilgrimage.

Guru’s messages should reach the people and it should not be remembered only during the pilgrimage time. It should be remembered always. The chief minister said that human caste is humanity. Some people try to make Guru part of a faction. He added that Guru had stated not to fight in the name of religion.

Sivagiri Mutt thanked the chief minister for exempting pilgrimage from the night curfew. Swami Parananda lit the traditional lamp at the function. Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust President Swami Sachidananda presided over the function. There were special poojas in the morning. SNDP Yogam president Dr M N Soman, Kanimozhi MP and former ministers Dr Thomas Isaac and K Babu were the chief guests.
