Number of Covid victims rising, daily cases touch 2.5 lakh; PM to chair meet with CMs today

NEW DELHI: Daily Covid cases in the country are nearing 2.5 lakh. The infections increased by 50,000 than yesterday. On Wednesday, 1,94,720 people were diagnosed with the virus.

For the first time since May 26, the number of patients per day has crossed two lakh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the chief ministers of all states today amid rising cases. The meeting will be at 4.30 pm and the situation of each state will be assessed.

Meantime, the situation in Kerala is very serious. In the wake of the cases rising, a review meet will be convened by the chief minister. More restrictions are likely to imposed in the meet. Health experts said school and office activities need to be regulated.
