'Ali Akbar is now Ramasimhan': Director officially converts to Hinduism

Director Ali Akbar had recently said through his social media account that he is quitting Islam. He said that he had given up the name of Ali Akbar and will be named Ramasimhan.

Pratheesh Vishwanath, former leader of the International Hindu Parishad and leader of the Hindu Seva Kendram, said in a Facebook post that the director has now officially converted to Hinduism.

He posted the picture with the caption, 'History repeats itself, Ali Akbar is now Ramasimhan'. Ramasimhan can been sitting in front of a Homakunda (fire pit) with a poonool (sacred thread) and a saffron shawl around his neck.

He was accompanied by his wife, Luciyamma. The director had said that he is converting to Islam in protest of a group of people using 'laugh emoji' at the news of the death of CDS Bipin Rawat. He had said that from now on he and his family would follow Indian culture.
